WORSHIP DURING LENT: “The Journey of Discipleship”

At the heart of the Christian faith is our participation in the life, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as Lord, and through that participation, the fullness of eternal life with God. Because this must be renewed continually throughout our lives, we often speak of our life in Christ as a journey.

This Lent, in our worship, we will explore this journey through our Holy Scriptures and the experiences from the lives of the first disciples as well as our own. As we again prepare for our annual walk with Jesus to the cross during Holy Week, we are invited to use the weeks of lent to examine and strengthen our own faith commitments as together we explore the common steps of the journey of discipleship: following, confessing, faltering, transforming, serving, and proclaiming.

Are you looking for renewed hope in this new year? Are you looking forward to spring? Are you longing for the fullness of life that is the Easter promise? Then let us journey together to a deeper personal commitment to Christ, and a deeper sense of what it means to be the church.
