Women's Ministries

In today’s busy world, finding time for ourselves and authentic relationships with other women can be a real challenge. That is why the women of Cargill are committed to helping one another do just that! We meet at least once a month in the evenings. Child care can always be provided for events that take place at Cargill UMC. Activities include crafting, book discussion, yoga, among other things. The conversation and food will fill you up and hopefully leave you feeling renewed. We are a very open group. All women are invited and welcome to join us.

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • A movie and discussions that explore our own experiences
  • A Bible Study that connects all of this to God’s beautiful Word.

YOUR CHALLENGE – SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT: Pick a monthly reading challenge from the list and check off each challenge as you complete it. We will meet the first Thursday of each month, from 7-9pm, at Mocha Moment. You will have the opportunity to share what challenge you chose, why you chose it, and if you would recommend the book. Please see the Family Ministries bulletin board in Fellowship Hall for your copy of the 2016 READING CHALLENGE. Questions? Contact Jessica Benewich at Jessica@cargillumc.org.

tai chi

What is Tai Chi and why should I try it? Tai Chi is a Chinese moving meditation that stretches, improves balance and increases strength all from standing positions. Continued practice will result in increased vigor. This low impact exercise puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. If you’re looking for a way to reduce stress and anxiety, and help increase flexibility and balance, consider Tai Chi!

This ongoing class meets on Wednesday mornings from 10:15-11:15 in Fellowship Hall. Participants should wear loose fitting clothes and flexible shoes. Class facilitator is Bob Naatz.
